Entry for Gringat's Repugnant Contest "Build the Robots"

When I went to edit this one, the pics were too dark to post. I spent some time cleaning it up, but I won't be doing this every time I post, because the process is long and tedious, and doesn't look too great.

The concept here is: reconnaissance drone optimized for speed. Equipped with two ocular cameras, and long powerful legs, this unit is perfectly suited for all kinds of recconaissance applications, and has often been weaponized for kamikaze missions.

The build has very simple construction on the inside, so I was able to build this in less than the maximum 300 pieces, but I must admit that the build has suffered in stability as a direct result.

After the contest I'll likely revisit a few parts of this MOC, and any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I agree that you should revisit this MOC to improve what you can beyond the constraints of the contest, but visually I don't think it suffers that much. Its a robo Ostrich. Maybe some thicker more armored legs would help but since its a robot it can have hyper thin skeletal framed legs and it make sense.

The shaping of the body is immaculate! Bravo  I like how the gold is kept isolated to the top part of the body, and the use of those round parts on the sides shapes it well. I get a real sense of motif since you used those with some other round spiky or jagged parts throughout its body. Its always nice seeing a theme or motif in a MOC. Its something I try to do in every MOC I make. You got a NPU with that gun part as the armor piece for its neck. Works brilliantly there. :D Overall its an awesome MOC and I hope you keep it around for a bit, and improve where you think you cna. :icongreatjobplz:

Ostriches, as opposed to the build, have much longer necks and longer torsos. Ostrich legs are typically fairly thin, but with this set of proportions, the build looks alot more like a chocobo from Final Fantasy. (especially the head)

Oh, I love those round parts; they look good and don't even restrict the poseability!

The gold was meant to be a bit like a racing stripe (mere senseless detail for the sake of looking neat (that, and I have limited gold))

Yeah, i've been paying extra attention to detail and texture and the like, it's good to see that people notice :)

I'll definately be keeping this lil' feler for a while, at the very least i'll keep the head in case I want to use it again later.

looks pretty great man!
other than whats been said for the legs, everythings fine.
if you cant seem to fix the legs though, the torso could be shorter
